There’s been talk in the media for a while now about whether Bollywood’s iconic beauty, Madhubala, would get a biopic. At one point, there was even a YouTube video making the rounds, but it turned out to be a fake. In the past, some films’ snippets created such rumours

 

However, this time, it’s the real deal. Preparations have kicked off for the biopic of the late Madhubala, titled ‘Madhubala’, as announced by the producers on Friday. Director Jasmeet K. Reen, known for directing ‘Darlings’ starring Alia Bhatt, will be at the helm of this film. The producers shared the news on social media, expressing pride in paying homage to Madhubala and promising to uncover the timeless contributions and untold stories of Bollywood’s eternal actress.

 

 

 

Madhubala’s journey in Bollywood began in 1942 with the film ‘Basant’, and she made her mark with films like ‘Howrah Bridge’ and ‘Kala Pani’ in 1958. However, it was her role in the 1960 film ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ that many consider the pinnacle of her career. Despite the online buzz about who will play Madhubala, with some fans rooting for Alia Bhatt, the official cast announcement is yet to come, sparking discussions among eager fans.
